Coaching for cyclists and triathletes

I am Phil. I raced the ITU circuit for seven years and I have been coaching since 2010 — swimming, triathlon, and power on the bike. I take a small number of athletes and coach them around the week they actually have.

Who I work with

01

Cyclists and triathletes

Road, gravel and triathlon, first season through provincial level. Power-based.

People with jobs

Eight to twelve hours a week around work and family. A plan that ignores that gets abandoned in March.

Anyone tired of a template

If a thousand other people downloaded your plan, it was not built for your week.

What you get

02
  • A training plan that updates every week, built around your week
  • Proper testing, and a re-test when the numbers go stale
  • A written review every week — what was planned, what happened, and the gap
  • Messaging between sessions, for the Tuesday that fell apart
  • Race-day pacing and fuelling plans
  • Month to month. No season-long contract.

I keep the roster at ten. Weekly coaching stops being weekly past that.

Background

03
2009–2016

Elite triathlete, Triathlon Québec — seven years on the ITU circuit.

2010–2015

Swimming and triathlon coach, various triathlon clubs.

2013–2016

Masters swim club coach.

2016–2020

PowerWatts coach at Premiere Performance.

Now

PowerWatts coach at the CNCB in Bromont, and still racing with Messorem Club Cycliste.

I also co-found Dravr, where we build training software. Athletes I coach use it — you should hear that from me rather than find it out. It is part of why the roster is small.

Tell me what you are training for and how much time you have. Half an hour, no charge, no pitch at the end of it.
